To raise the standard of high school gymnastics at East High School. This may look different than it has in past years. While it's important to have skills, gymnastics is a sport of perfection. Therefore, it's imperative that a skill be done well in order to compete it. Competition teams can expect to change depending on weekly practice attendance and work ethic displayed. What is done in practice is more important to me than what is scored at a meet, because of that - the competition team will not be determined off of scores from prior meets. Big skills do not impress me or the judges when done sloppy or technically incorrect - teams have been known to win by keeping their routines simple with clean execution while performing required elements. I am looking to train athletes that will not only perform well in competition, but also in life. Work ethic, sportsmanship, character and integrity are vital components to be a successful athlete on the East Angels Gymnastics team.
